Ten year old Kaitlyn's Girl Scout troop collected items for a Bare Necessities drive, but Kaitlyn wanted to do more to help single parents. Her mom was a single parent for all most nine years. So Kaitlyn decided to ask the director of her school, De LaSalle Academy, if she could ask the school to donate items too. Last week a flyer went home about donating hygiene products.
We can't thank Kaitlyn and De LaSalle Academy enough. It is truly amazing what a giving person she is and so thankful that her school is so will to help kids achieve there goals. Kaitlyn's mom Sarah knows all too well how hard it can be to be a single mom. With no help form Kaitlyn's dad, Sarah was a single mom for nine years. The school collected so much, we need a truck to pick the donations up.

What a great day we had with our moms today. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast. We had a few bumps in the road with electrical issues but we made the best of it. Good food, great friends, beautiful handmade gifts, kids made their moms gifts too and the kids had so much fun playing on the playground and throwing around the football. What more could we have asked for?
Happy Mother's Day to all moms, single or not. Have a fantastic day! |
