We held a coupon class tonight for single moms to learn how to cut their food bill and save money. Each mom that came out received a Newbie Pack which includes 2 copies of each insert received in the last few weeks and a coupon booklet to Family Dollar that were provided by Lori's Coupon Cab LLC. This is a great way to get several weeks worth of coupons when you are just starting out or you need to start again. Each mom was given a homework assignment. Excited to see how much money they will start saving!

A big thanks and shout out to Jim and Sami from Frank and Son's Moving for their help in organizing a special Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser for Rotary Club members. AMHH volunteers will sneak onto their lawns and place flamingos as a fun way to raise money for school supplies for children of single moms. We kicked off the fundraiser by flocking the Cape Coral Caring Center, another great resource of for our community. Not a member of the Rotary Club and want to get in on the fun? No worries, we can help you with that. Pink flamingos are popping up on front lawns all over Lee County, along with a sign that says “You’ve Been Flocked.” The leader of the flock is carrying a bag containing a note that says “You have been FLOCKED” and explains the roost is a fundraising effort for AMHH. We go out between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. every night and take them off one lawn and put them on another victims yard. We will be flocking neighborhoods in an effort to raise $1,500 for our Back to School Supply project. But don’t panic if you awaken with 24 to 80 pink flamingos grazing in your front yard – you have options. The flamingos will only reside on your lawn for one day and will then be removed at no charge; however, the “victim” has the option to make a $10 donation for removal of the birds. They can even fill out the “Flock-A-Friend” form to determine the flock’s migration path. Once flocked, a “victim” can purchase anti-flocking insurance for an extra $10, which guarantees that no more flocks will roost in their yard as they migrate around the county! Have a flamingo phobia? Don’t fear! The purchase of anti-flocking insurance spares your home or business.
