TRIKE-A-THON FUNDRAISER
Saturday, September 10, 2016, registration: Begins at 11:00 am Marinatown Yacht Harbor, N. Ft. Myers                                               (3440 Marina Town Lane)

Come out, have fun and support your community!  In addition to providing a fun family event for families, the purpose of the Trike-A-Thon is to raise money to help support single moms and their children in SWFL. The event will encourage good sportsmanship, physical education and bike safety. Each child will race other children in their age group. In addition to the race there will be a Karate and martial arts demonstration, face painting, and other fun vendor booths to visit and enjoy.

Children have the opportunity to collect donations to win various prizes. Donations can be collected prior to the event. Children are not required to obtain donations in order to participate but every donation helps and stays in our community.  All you need to participate is your child’s bike, helmet and pledge sheet donations if you were able to obtain any.
For some added fun there will also be an adult relay race where parents have the opportunity to participate in the Adult Trike event.  Use your child’s “trike” and compete for the win! Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
To register contact Kristen at 239-895-5341 or amomshelpinghand@yahoo.com  Visit http://www.amomshelpinghandofswfl.com/trike-a-thon-participant-registration.html  for more info.

A Mom’s Helping Hand of SWFL is a 501(c)(3) charity designed to assist struggling single mothers (and their children) while working one, two, sometimes three jobs to support their children; only to realize all of this work and sacrifice means they sacrifice valuable time so important to "raise" the loved ones they are working so hard for.

A Mom’s Helping Hand of SWFL is here to lend a helping hand and let those families know they're not alone via support meetings, donations of bare necessities, training classes (parenting, budgeting, self-defense, job interviewing techniques and general life skills), family fun events, holiday and birthday gifts, school supplies, and resource referrals. These programs can make a world of difference in the lives of a single mom and her children.

Volunteers are the heart of what we do … and the way our mission becomes reality on the ground. If you believe in our mission, consider making a difference by using your time, talents and caring heart to benefit the AMHH families.
There are a lot of ways to volunteer, before you can volunteer we ask you to fill our  Volunteer Application.   You will receive detailed information about all opportunities and their requirements.
The Events Calendar lists dates and details of all our volunteer and fundraising events.

We have several Committees that support our programs and other activities.
  • AMHH Kids: Committee members host quarterly events for the AMHH Kids.
  • Fundraising Committees: This committee supports our fundraising events and helps brainstorm new ideas. Committee members engage in tasks such as soliciting silent auction donations, managing registration, and helping with set-up and tear-down of events.
  • Marketing Committee: This committee works to create community awareness of our mission and works collaboratively on the development and implementation of funding strategies.  Help come up with fresh ideas to reach those in our community that would like to get involved.
  • Planning Committee: This Committee plans events for our moms.  These events will consist of meeting ideas, guest speakers, special events such as mother's day.
  • Community Phone Book:   A resource of community professionals and businesses which are willing to provide their services to our families, and their children, on an as-needed, pro-bono basis or discounted rate.  It also provides a unique and hands-on opportunity for community members to give of their time, talents, and expertise in a way that is rewarding, appreciated and helps to fill needs which would otherwise go unmet.
  • Donation Drive:  Sign up to host a Bare Necessities, Birthday Box or School Supply drive.  We collect items most needed in homes that are used on a regular basis.
Register today to be come a volunteer!

Hello AMHH Supporters
We hope everyone is staying cool in these hot Summer months!  We sure are trying to.  Last month's school supply drive was a big help in ensuring children of single moms go back to school prepared!  We truly are blessed to have such a wonderful community standing beside us!

Bare Necessities
Our Bare Necessities shelves are pretty well stocked, however there are a few areas that are very depleted and we need your help!  Help us fill the shelves back up by holding a Bare Necessities Drive at your workplace, church, neighborhood or with your friends and family.  We are more than happy to come pick up any donated items or you can drop them by the office anytime Saturday's from 10 am - 2 pm or by appointment!  Here are our current top needs:
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Laundry Soap
  • Dish Soap
  • Hand Soap
  • Cleaners
  • Zip Lock Bags
  • Trash Bags
  • Baby Wipes
  • Tissues

Thank You to Our Community!
What a smashing success the Rotarian Flamingo Flocking was!  A huge thank you to Frank and Son's Moving & Storage for helping put it all together!  We are so grateful for your partnership!

Thank you to Modern Woodman of America for your matching donation of $1,000!  Because of your generous donation children of single moms will go back to school fully prepared!

Thank you Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. for holding a Back to School Drive at their office and collecting a generous amount of supplies for our kids and monetary donations of $850!  We are were able to send our kids back to school with everything they needed.

Thank you to Cape Smiles Dentistry, Martial Arts University and Florida Future Realty for acting as drop off locations for school supplies.  We are blessed to have wonderful businesses in our community that care!
